First Peoples Worldwide facilitates the use of traditional indigenous knowledge in solving today’s challenges, including climate change, food security, medicine, governance and sustainable development. The Keepers of the Earth fund is designed to provide funding to locally-initiated development project in indigenous communities around the world. Grants range from USD 5,000 to USD 20,000 and are awarded to projects, conceived and implemented by indigenous communities, that seek to control, utilize, leverage, retain, create and increase the assets of indigenous communities. Applications are open-format, and prospective grantees can propose projects through a written or video application.
